Preferred to create a higher height crotchet, single crochet technique is often used in this design. In the middle part of the design, asymmetrical star motifs that are looking to each other are created. The edge of the lace is designed as a “v” shape and the tips of it have clover motifs.

There is not any customization in motif in edging laces. However, if the top rows are just a filling, this heigh of it can be increased or decreased. This is determined by the height according to your needs. If there are motifs which are basically open and close squares frequently in this fillings, how many that will be in a any given length can be changed or those can be erased entirely form the design.
